The Infant Teacher is responsible for delivering lessons across different developmental stages, preparing learning resources and materials, ensuring well-being and safety of the infants, take responsibility for their daily routines and contributing to centre and parent partnership activities and events.
Job Responsibilities
1) Teaching & Learning
- Deliver age-appropriate experiences for infant across different developmental stages, demonstrating a variety of teaching techniques according to curriculum guidelines.
- Conduct pre-language and literacy programmes.
- Plan and prepare developmentally age-appropriate learning experiences, resources and materials for infants across different developmental stages.
- Complete experience plan evaluation to self-reflect if the experience conducted has been effective and learning objectives have been met.
- Participate in setting up and up-keeping of integrated learning spaces (eg. Math, Science, English, Chinese, Art & Craft) to facilitate infant's learning.
- Source for suitable material for display at school and update it according to focus on teaching content and infant's interest.
- Monitor the development of the infant daily and update infant’s developmental profile every 3 months.
- Conduct Parent-Teacher conference (PTC).
2) Well-being of Children
- Ensure the well-being and safety of the infant in all domains.
- Interact with infants in a respectful, responsive and reciprocate manner.
- Be responsible and facilitate the conduct of daily care routine for the infant which includes meal time, milk feeds, baths, diaper changing, temperature check and administering medicine.
3) Engaging Parents & Community
- Work in partnership with parents and community in the holistic development of their infant.
- Plan and prepare termly newsletter.
- Send daily updates on routines and experiences.
- Communicate with parents through software app and encourage parents' involvement in centre events or class experiences.
Other responsibilities
Centre Activities and Events
- Contribute actively in centre events and activities eg. Planning of field trip.
- Carry out class administration duties as and when necessary.
- To assist in ad-hoc projects/committees as and when required by the Principal and Assistant Director.
- To perform other duties as directed by the Director/CEO.

Minimum Education / Qualifications
- Higher Certificate in Infant Care/Advanced Certificate in Early Years and above
- 5 credits in English and Mother Tongue in GCE 'O' Levels
Minimum Years of Relevant Experience:
- 0 to 2 years of working experience in early childhood setting
Knowledge/Skills
- Adequate knowledge of current early childhood care and education development theories, research and practices
- Good communication and classroom management skills
