Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. is seeking a driven intern to conduct time and motion studies on the shopfloor and to support CIP initiatives through data-driven process optimization. The role involves building dashboards tracking OEE and productivity, while assisting Industrial Engineers with data collection and documentation.

You will contribute to continuous improvement projects and data visualization efforts, gaining hands-on experience in manufacturing analytics and reporting.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Systems or Manufacturing Engineering or related.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word for data analysis and presentation.
• Hands-on coding/dashboard reporting experience (Python, VBA, Power BI, Tableau, SQL).
• Basic understanding of manufacturing or production processes is an advantage.
• Analytical, proactive, and able to work on the production shopfloor.

Responsibilities

• Identify and analyze waste and support CIP initiatives via automation and process optimization.
• Perform time and motion studies on the production shopfloor to support productivity analyses.
• Assist IE in collecting, analyzing, and validating operational data for improvement projects.
• Maintain IE documentation (process flows, SOPs, time study records, layouts).
• Support IE OEE tracking and KPI reporting, dashboards and trend analysis.

Description

The ideal intern is expected to run time and motion studies on the shopfloor, support continuous improvement projects and build dashboards that track OEE and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Identify and analyze existing operational waste and support Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) initiatives through automation, process optimization, and work method reviews
• Perform on‑site observation and conduct time and motion studies on the production shopfloor to support productivity and capacity analysis
• Assist Industrial Engineers in collecting, analyzing, and validating operational data for improvement projects
• Support the preparation, maintenance, and version control of Industrial Engineering (IE) documentation (process flows, SOPs, time study records, layouts, etc.)
• Participate in IE‑related OEE tracking, CIP implementation, and performance improvement activities
• Support data visualization and reporting for IE projects (e.g., dashboards, trend analysis, KPI tracking)

Required Experience and Skills

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (data analysis, charting, and presentation skills)
• Good knowledge and hands‑on experience in coding, application development, and dashboard reporting (e.g., Python, VBA, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar tools)
• Basic understanding of manufacturing or production processes is an advantage
• Ability to observe processes critically and apply data‑driven problem‑solving approaches
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
• Proactive, willing to learn, and comfortable working on the production shopfloor
