Job summary

The IKEA Singapore store is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support daily kitchen operations, ensure high standards of cleanliness, and deliver quality food to customers. You will assist with meal ingredient prep, stock checks, and adherence to SOPs and HACCP documentation.

We value a team player who can manage time efficiently, stand for long hours, and work AM/PM shifts, including weekends and public holidays, all while maintaining personal grooming and hygiene.

Qualifications

• Assist in preparing meal ingredients and maintaining a clean, hygienic food preparation area.
• Ensure proper cleaning and sanitising of all food preparation areas according to established hygiene standards.
• Execute and support kitchen operations in compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Uphold quality, service, and cleanliness standards to ensure food safety and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing meal ingredients and maintaining a clean, hygienic food preparation area.

• Apply FIFO and FEFO principles to maintain freshness and quality.
• Maintain HACCP documentation including best before date records and par-level monitoring.
• Ensure ASC/MSC recording procedures for certified seafood usage daily.
• Contribute to store operations and align with Commercial Review Standards.

About the job

Reporting to the Kitchen Production Manager, you are responsible for the daily kitchen operations, ensuring a clean and safe work environment, the delivery of high-quality food, and consistent standards of food safety and customer service.

• Assist in preparing meal ingredients and maintaining a clean, hygienic food preparation area.
• Ensure proper cleaning and sanitising of all food preparation areas according to established hygiene standards.
• Execute and support kitchen operations in compliance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Uphold existing operating procedures and maintain high Quality, Service, and Cleanliness (Q.S.C.) standards to ensure food safety and hygiene.
• Assist with unloading food supplies and checking stock inventory for accuracy.
• Actively practice First-In-First-Out (FIFO) and First Expired, First Out (FEFO) principles to maintain freshness and quality in food preparation.
• Maintain accurate Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) documentation, including best before date records and preparation par-level monitoring for peak and non-peak periods.
• Ensure compliance with Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) and Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)recording procedures to track certified seafood usage daily and ensure ASC/MSC products are not mixed with other seafood on shelving.
• Contribute actively to store operations and ensure alignment with the Functional Commercial Review Standards.
