Job summary

Raffleson Academy in Singapore is seeking an experienced IB Economics Teacher to deliver Standard Level curricula for the IB Diploma Programme. You will help students develop strong analytical and evaluative skills and prepare them for IB assessments.

The role is part-time with classes after school and on weekends. You will work with the academic team on lesson planning, use IB-aligned materials, and provide constructive feedback to support student progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Education or a relevant discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Economics at pre-university level.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Able to explain complex economic concepts in a clear and structured manner.
• Strong analytical and essay-writing skills.
• Responsible, punctual and committed to students' academic progress.

Responsibilities

• Teach IBDP Economics Standard Level students in small-group or individual classes.
• Deliver structured lessons aligned with the IB Economics syllabus.
• Teach key areas including: Introduction to Economics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, The Global Economy.
• Develop students’ ability to apply economic theories to real-world situations.
• Train students in data-response and essay-writing techniques.
• Guide students in using diagrams, economic terminology and chains of analysis effectively.
• Provide clear instruction on evaluation and higher-order economic reasoning.
• Prepare students for internal and external assessments.
• Mark assignments, essays, tests and examination papers and provide constructive feedback.
• Monitor students’ academic progress and identify areas requiring improvement.
• Prepare or adapt lesson materials, worksheets and practice questions where necessary.
• Work with the academic team to support curriculum planning and student development.
