Job Description
We are seeking qualified and experienced IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) Tutors to support international school students in their academic studies and IB examination preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach IBDP subjects at Standard Level (SL) and/or Higher Level (HL) .
- Deliver structured lessons according to the IB curriculum and students' individual learning needs.
- Explain complex academic concepts clearly in both English and Mandarin Chinese .
- Assess students' strengths and weaknesses and develop appropriate learning plans.
- Prepare students for school assessments, mock examinations, and final IB examinations.
- Guide students through IB past papers, examination-style questions, command terms, and mark schemes .
- Teach effective examination techniques, answer structures, time management, and problem-solving strategies.
- Provide appropriate homework, revision materials, and practice exercises.
- Monitor students' progress and provide regular lesson feedback.
- Provide appropriate guidance for Internal Assessments (IA) and other subject-specific coursework while maintaining IB academic integrity standards.
Mandatory Criteria
- Be bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese .
- Be able to communicate confidently and explain academic concepts in both languages .<
- Hold or be currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in a relevant discipline .
- Possess strong subject knowledge relevant to the IBDP subject being taught.
- Be capable of teaching IBDP SL and/or HL .
- Have a good understanding of the IB curriculum, assessment objectives, examination structure, and marking requirements.
- Be comfortable conducting in-person lessons in Singapore when required.
- Demonstrate strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Be patient, responsible, punctual, and committed to students' academic progress.
- Be able to adapt teaching approaches to suit students with different academic abilities and English proficiency levels.
Preferred Experience
- Preference will be given to candidates who: have previous experience teaching or tutoring IBDP students .
- Are current or former IB teachers, experienced private tutors, or high-achieving former IB students.
- Have experience teaching IBDP Higher Level (HL) subjects.
- Are familiar with current IB subject guides, past examination papers, command terms, assessment criteria, and mark schemes.
- Have experience preparing students for IB final examinations.
- Have experience guiding students with Internal Assessments (IA), Extended Essays (EE), research, academic writing, or subject-specific coursework .
