Deutsche Bank is expanding its energy trading franchise in Asia, seeking a VP/Associate to lead pricing, trading and risk management in energy products. The role collaborates with traders, sales, structuring, research and control functions to grow the franchise across the Asia time zone.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of energy trading experience in a Tier 1 financial institution for VP, or 3+ years for Associate, with deep knowledge of oil and gas and a proven revenue track record.

• Minimum 3 years' energy trading experience in a Tier 1 financial institution (Associate)
• Knowledge of commodities including oil and gas
• Proven revenue generation track record in energy trading
• Strong risk management capabilities and market share growth experience
• Ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity responsibly

Position Overview

Deutsche Bank's FIC business provides clients with access to the Bank's liquidity and product expertise through our global sales, trading and structuring teams, as well as our electronic trading channels.

The person recruited will play a pivotal role in the expansion of our energy trading business across Asia. The role combines day-to-day pricing, trading, and risk management responsibilities with a focus on business and franchise development.

The role will involve working closely with traders and interaction with various other teams including, but not limited to, sales, structuring, research, and control functions.

The person recruited be responsible for pricing, trading, and risk management responsibilities.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Market making and risk management of energy products.
• You will be responsible for developing and enabling the energy franchise in the Asia time zone.
• Quoting the bank's franchise in the region across a range of products, providing competitive pricing for clients in collaboration with traders in other locations.
• Analyse market structure and the opportunities and threats there-in.
• Manage financial risk and non-financial risks.
• Interact with clients, sales and internal counterparties in other trading, coverage and structuring functions to increase market transparency and to generate new energy business.
• Generating and pitching trade ideas and market colour for clients, actively seeking business opportunities and broadening the client base.

Your Skills And Experiences

• For VP: Minimum 5 years' experience in energy trading within a Tier 1 Financial Institution
• For Associate: Minimum 3 years' experience in energy trading within a Tier 1 Financial Institution
• Knowledge of commodities products including oil and gas.
• Solid track-record in revenue generation as an energy trader
• A proven track-record in sustaining/generating high quality market share.
• A proven risk management skill.
• Strong quantitative skills.
• An understanding of capital and regulatory matters in commodities.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs
