Job summary

Alphaeus Pte Ltd is seeking hands-on High Performance Computing (HPC) Engineers to support HPC clusters, parallel filesystems and related infrastructure in Singapore.

This 1-year renewable contract entails implementing, operating, and maintaining HPC environments, performing Linux administration and performance tuning, and automating operations with Bash and Python while collaborating with researchers and workshops.

Job description

Alphaeus is looking for hands-on High Performance Computing (HPC) Engineers to support HPC clusters, parallel filesystems and associated infrastructure.

Contract: 1 year, renewable

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, operate and maintain HPC clusters.
• Perform Linux administration, performance tuning, patching and troubleshooting.
• Manage storage, backups, disaster recovery and security controls.
• Automate operations using Bash/Python and maintain documentation.
• Support researcher training, workshops and project onboarding.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Linux/UNIX administration, preferably RHEL.
• Hands-on experience with HPC clusters, job schedulers and parallel filesystems.
• Experience with PBS/PBS Pro/Slurm, GPFS/BeeGFS/Lustre and InfiniBand.
• Familiarity with Nagios, Grafana, Prometheus or Ganglia.
• Bash/Python scripting and provisioning tools such as Ansible, xCAT, Kickstart, BCM or Puppet.
• Experience with cloud/virtualisation, containers and parallel programming libraries; familiarity with GPU tools such as CUDA, OpenCL or PyTorch.
• Strong communication and troubleshooting skills.
