Job summary

Holiday Inn Express Singapore Katong, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts, seeks a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee room and public area attendants, ensuring top service quality and adherence to brand standards.

The role requires a Diploma or equivalent with 2 years in hotel housekeeping, strong English communication, and supervisory capabilities. You’ll manage shifts, coordinate with Front Office and Maintenance, and support training and performance improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma or equivalent plus 2 years’ housekeeping experience in a hotel.
• Excellent communication in English; proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong supervisory and training abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect the work of room and public area attendants to ensure quality.
• Assist Superior/Executive Housekeeper with budget preparation and management.
• Maintain knowledge of housekeeping systems and conduct room inspections and allocations.
• Coordinate with Front Office and Maintenance for guest needs and defects.
• Provide shift handovers and conduct shift briefings to ensure operational readiness.

Job description

Join us as a Housekeeping Supervisor in Holiday Inn Express Singapore Katong. You’ll have ambition, talent and obviously, some key skills.

We’re looking for someone who can:

Supervise and inspect the work of assigned room and/or public area attendants to ensure product quality standards are met and that optimum service is provided to hotel guests according to hotel and company business objectives.

• Works with Superior/ Executive Housekeeper in the preparation and management of the Department’s budget.
• Supervise the implementation of housekeeping standards and procedures in relation to:
  • Bedroom service
  • Bathroom service
  • Valet service
  • Cleaning service
  • Linen maintenance
• Recommended changes to these standards and training needs on an ongoing basis
• Solve employee grievances
• Ensure consistency within the department
• Open and close the shift and ensure effective shift hand over
• Maintain a current and thorough knowledge of all housekeeping systems
• Perform Room allocations
• Perform Room inspections
• Priorities arrival rooms
• Liaise with Front Office for guest and hotel requirements
• Liaise and follow-up with Maintenance team on guest room and public area defects
• Ensure guest valet is processed and delivered in a timely manner
• Co‑ordinate special projects (example site rooms, vermin control, window and carpet cleaning, room inventories)
• Manage all special requests made by guests
• Management of lost property for the hotel
• Ensure you have complete knowledge of room types, layouts and facilities
• Manage storage areas
• Maintain adequate stock levels
• Complete stock takes as required
• Conducts shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known

Qualification & Requirements

Minimum Diploma or equivalent plus 2 years’ housekeeping experience preferably in a hotel of similar size and complexity and including supervisory experience or training.

Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company. Able to speak, read and write English. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office. Possesses organizational and training abilities
