Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness of Home and residents' safety.
Carry out daily and weekly cleaning tasks in dormitories and common areas.
Sweep, mop floors daily and dispose waste neatly.
Ensure washing, laundry and ironing are done as required.
Keep kitchens, dining areas and washrooms clean and well stocked.

Job description

1. Job Functions

To be responsible for the cleanliness of the Home with the daily chores and ensures safety and well-being of the residents.
Housekeeping Function
Dormitories
To make the bedding daily and change the bed sheets and pillow covers weekly and arrange the furniture neatly.
To sweep and mop the floor daily and place signage to caution passers-by.
To wipe the fans and windows weekly.
To remove clutter and maintain dormitory cleanliness.
Kitchen and Dining Area.
To sweep and mop the floor daily and place signage to caution passer-by.
To dispose waste neatly to ensure cleanliness of the area.
To prepare for the residents and ensure proper storage.
Washrooms
To wash daily and place signage to caution passer-by.
To do laundry cleaning and ironing.
Other Functions
To report on facility matters that require attention e.g. pipe blockage, faulty pipe, etc.
To assist in other areas as assigned by the Head of Home.
To execute duties in accordance to Environmental Sanitation Regime (ESR) requirements.
To be trained and attain competency in Environmental Sanitation Regime (ESR) requirements.
Equipped with the necessary equipment/tools and cleaning agents and disinfectants to clean and disinfect the surfaces of listed inventory of areas.
To ensure toilet paper, liquid hand soap, paper towel/hand dryer are available at all times.
To practice2-cloth table-top cleaning and tablecloths are washed regularly, and water in pail for rinsing cloth is changed regularly.
To ensure premises and areas are well-kept and maintained to ensure no mosquito breeding or harborage of other vectors.
To ensure high-touch surfaces areas require more frequency cleaning and disinfection than minimal contact surfaces. Cleaning and disinfection should be performed at least daily.
