Job summary

Dorsett Changi City Singapore is seeking a proactive Hotel Technician to ensure our property operates at peak efficiency. You will participate in daily upkeep, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of guest rooms, public areas, and building facilities.

The role requires hands-on experience with electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, strong problem solving, and the ability to work independently or in a team, including shift rotations.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years hands-on maintenance experience, preferably in hotels, commercial facilities or residential complexes.
• Good working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, carpentry, or basic painting works.
• NITEC, Higher NITEC, or Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Building Services Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
• Maintain primary building systems including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, lighting, and mechanical plant equipment.
• Respond to maintenance requests via internal ticketing system promptly and professionally.
• Adhere to workplace safety, health regulations, fire safety protocols, and hotel operating procedures.
• Support external contractors during servicing, overhauls, or renovations.
• Monitor and optimize energy consumption in line with sustainability goals.

Job description

We are seeking a proactive, skilled, and reliable Hotel Technician to ensure our property operates at peak efficiency.

As part of our Engineering & Maintenance team, you will be responsible for the daily upkeep, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of all guest rooms, public areas, and building facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Preventative & Corrective Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, scheduled service, and urgent repairs across guest rooms, front-of-house areas, and back-of-house facilities.

• Systems Upkeep: Assist in maintaining primary building systems, including HVAC/air-conditioning, basic electrical distribution, plumbing, lighting, and mechanical plant equipment.

• Work Orders & Requests: Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests from guests and other hotel departments via our internal ticketing system.

• Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to workplace safety, health regulations, fire safety protocols, and hotel operating procedures.

• Vendor & Project Assistance: Support external contractors during specialized servicing, overhauls, or renovation works.

• Energy Management: Help monitor and optimize utility consumption in alignment with the hotel's sustainability goals.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of hands‑on maintenance experience, preferably within a hotel, commercial facility, or residential complex.

• Technical Knowledge: Good working knowledge of general electrical, plumbing, air conditioning (FCU/AHU), carpentering, or basic painting works.

• Certifications: NITEC, Higher NITEC, or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent trade certificates are highly advantageous.

• Skills & Abilities:
