Job summary

Adecco is seeking an experienced L3 Big Data Administrator to support enterprise-scale Big Data services within a leading banking environment in Singapore. The role focuses on production support, cluster administration, performance optimisation, security, capacity planning and high-severity incident management.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of hands-on experience with Hadoop ecosystems (HDFS, YARN, Spark, MapReduce, HBase) and strong Linux scripting skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Big Data / Data Platform Engineering with hands-on administration of Hadoop ecosystem technologies.
• Strong experience administering Hadoop (HDP) clusters, provisioning, scaling, patching and lifecycle management.
• Proven expertise with Apache Kafka for high-throughput data streaming, consistency and fault tolerance.
• Experience managing OpenSearch / Elasticsearch clusters, including indexing, queries and data ingestion pipelines.
• Support for Apache NiFi data ingestion and AWS EMR for scalable processing workloads.
• Strong Linux administration and Shell/Python scripting skills with monitoring, troubleshooting and performance tuning.

Detailed Job Description

• 7+ years of experience in Big Data / Data Platform Engineering, with strong hands-on administration of Hadoop ecosystem technologies, including HDFS, YARN, Spark, MapReduce and HBase.
• Manage and maintain Hadoop (HDP) clusters, including provisioning, scaling, patching, decommissioning and cluster lifecycle management.
• Strong experience administering Apache Kafka, ensuring high-throughput data streaming, consistency and fault tolerance.
• Manage OpenSearch / Elasticsearch clusters, including indexing, query optimisation, Kibana and data ingestion pipelines.
• Support Apache NiFi for data ingestion and AWS EMR for scalable transaction processing and reconciliation workloads.
• Strong Linux administration and Shell/Python scripting skills, with experience in monitoring, troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Implement and manage security mechanisms, including Kerberos authentication, user provisioning, access controls and data governance.
• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, capacity planning and resilience of production platforms.
• Handle complex L3 incidents, drive root-cause analysis and ensure timely resolution in line with SLAs.
