Responsibilities include collecting specimens from hospitals and clinics, sorting reports to the appropriate departments, operating pneumatic tube systems, and performing basic cleaning and quality checks on equipment.
The Health Care Assistant is responsible for cleaning the laboratory glassware, keeping work benches and rooms clean, assisting in stocking supplies, and the packing and distribution of specimens.
Collects laboratory specimens from hospitals, outpatient clinics and private clinics (where applicable).
Sorts laboratory reports and ensures that they are distributed and sent to the respective hospitals, clinics, wards and laboratories in SGH Pte Ltd (where applicable).
Mans and operates the pneumatic tube and vertical transport stations as necessary.
Distributes cleaned items to the appropriate sections of the laboratory for storage.
Mixes water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
Washes and dries used glassware and instruments in container.
Examines cleaned glassware and equipment for cleanliness. Performs quality control tests for cleanliness.
Examines cleaned glassware and equipment for breakage and/or damage.
Cleans work benches, floor and walls according to specifications
Assists in stocking up supplies.
Operates autoclaves and sterilisers as necessary.
Performs any other duties as assigned by the
Section/Laboratory Supervisor or Head of Section/Laboratory.
Completed PSLE
Able to read and understand simple English
Able to perform staggered hours, including weekends and Public Holidays
