Description du poste

Sir Manasseh Meyer International School (SMMIS) is seeking an experienced, visionary, and results-driven Head of School to lead the school's next phase of growth and development.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an educational leader with a proven track record of growing student enrolment, raising academic standards, developing high-performing teams, and building a positive, values-driven school culture.

The successful candidate will provide strategic, academic, and operational leadership, ensuring the school's continued growth while preserving its distinctive identity and strengthening its reputation for educational excellence.

A key priority will be to build on the successful introduction of Grade 11 in the current academic year and lead the launch of Grade 12 in the next academic year, consolidating a coherent and high-quality K–12 educational pathway. The Head of School will play a pivotal role in developing a competitive senior secondary and pre-university programme that prepares students for successful progression to leading universities and other higher education opportunities.

Experience in a Jewish school is strongly preferred. The successful candidate must demonstrate cultural sensitivity and a genuine commitment to respecting and strengthening the school's Jewish identity, values, traditions, and community relationships.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership and School Growth

  • Develop and implement a multi-year strategic plan to drive sustainable enrolment growth, student retention, and the school's long-term development.

  • Strengthen the school's reputation through effective admissions strategies, parent engagement, marketing collaboration, and community partnerships.

  • Lead the continued growth of Grades 11 and 12, ensuring that expansion is supported by appropriate staffing, facilities, financial planning, and resources.

  • Build a compelling educational proposition that attracts and retains families while ensuring the school's long-term financial sustainability.

2. Academic Excellence and Curriculum Leadership

  • Lead the development of a coherent academic pathway from the primary and middle years through Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International AS & A Level.

  • Provide strategic and practical curriculum leadership across the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC), Cambridge IGCSE, and Cambridge International AS & A Level.

  • Oversee the implementation, academic quality, and continued development of the Grade 11 and Grade 12 programmes.

  • Drive teaching effectiveness, curriculum quality, assessment standards, examination preparation, and measurable student progress.

  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-quality teachers and academic leaders.

  • Establish effective academic monitoring, student support, university counselling, and career guidance systems to prepare students for future success.

  • Ensure appropriate curriculum approvals, examination arrangements, safeguarding standards, and regulatory compliance.

3. School Culture and Community Engagement

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, respectful, and high-performing school environment.

  • Embed the school's mission, values, Jewish identity, and traditions into daily school life.

  • Promote student wellbeing, positive behaviour, staff engagement, professional accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Build strong relationships with parents, staff, students, the Board, and the wider school community.

  • Develop a cohesive school culture in which students thrive, teachers feel supported, and families have confidence in the school's future.

4. Operational and Organisational Leadership

  • Lead and develop an effective Senior Leadership Team, establishing clear objectives, accountability, and performance expectations.

  • Oversee staffing, budgeting, facilities, resource allocation, and operational effectiveness.

  • Drive organisational development and change management in support of the school's strategic priorities.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable education regulations, safeguarding requirements, and examination standards.

  • Report regularly to the School Board on enrolment, academic performance, school culture, financial sustainability, and strategic progress.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A recognised bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant discipline. A master's degree in Educational Leadership or a related field is preferred.

  • Significant senior leadership experience as a Head of School, Principal, Deputy Principal, or in an equivalent educational leadership role.

  • A demonstrable track record of growing student enrolment, improving academic outcomes, and strengthening school culture.

  • Strong practical knowledge of the British curriculum and Cambridge international examination pathways, particularly IGCSE and A Level.

  • Experience in recruiting, developing, and retaining high-quality teachers and academic leaders.
