Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting for a newly created expansionary finance leadership role in Singapore. You will act as the main regulatory liaison, lead financial control and reporting, and manage a team through month-end close and year-end audit. A strong budgeting/forecasting background and ERP proficiency are essential.

You will drive process improvements and partner with head-office to execute the business plan, with performance bonuses and a comprehensive rewards program.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting & Finance required.
• Professional accounting qualification is a plus (CPA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Extensive experience in financial management, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Proven track record in leading finance teams.
• Experience in financial analysis, reporting and compliance.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial software.
• Strong project management and change skills.
• People management experience.

Responsibilities

• Act as validator/auditor and local regulator contact.
• Establish and maintain relationship with local audit firm for regulatory delivery.
• Lead Financial control, Tax and Capital monitoring; manage business plan.
• Organize day-to-day reporting: TB, ledger, P/L, balance sheet; attend monthly closes.
• Lead year-end audit; ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
• Drive system changes and process improvements balancing efficiency and controls.
• Review financial reports and present to stakeholders; support country strategy.

About Our Client

Our client is part of a global banking group which offers broad range of services covering execution, clearing, forex, securities lending, custody, depositary, fund administration, fund distribution support, middle-office outsourcing and issuer services.

Job Description

• you will act as a validator/auditor and local regulator main point of contact
• you will establish and maintain a working relationship with the local Audit firm in charge of Regulatory delivery
• you must possess the required knowledge of internal processes and reporting
• act as Financial control, Tax and Capital monitoring lead. They will also be responsible of the Business plan of the local entity.
• Organize and manage the day to day operations for timely and accurate reporting of various accounting reports, which include but not limited to, Trial balance, ledger, Profit & Loss account, Balance sheet substantiation and attend monthly closing meetings with Head Office. Manage the team to ensure all reporting are in line with statutory requirements, e.g. GL, Balance Sheet substantiation , consolidation packages, local regulatory survey and declaration, and Finance and Tax submissions to home authorities.
• Manage the team to complete the year-end audit and ensure financial statements are accurately completed and submitted in a timely manner.
• Responsible for leading change in accounting system, where applicable, and continuous monitoring and implementation of process improvement to establish the balance between efficiency and key controls.
• Review the financial reports prepared and attend meetings set with various stakeholders for financial presentation.
• Enhance the business partnering capabilities of Singapore Finance in support of country and business strategies and transformation objectives.

The Successful Applicant

• Degree in Accounting and Finance will be required.
• Professional Accounting Qualification will be added advantage (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.)
• Extensive experience in financial management, accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Proven track record in leading finance teams or projects.
• Experience in financial analysis, reporting, and compliance.
• Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems.
• Exposure to strategic financial planning and decision-making.
• Strong project management and change skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communicate.
• People Management experience.
