Responsibilities
- Be responsible for system‑level validation, failure analysis, characterization, and experimentation of customer systems
- Run and configure diagnostic software, design experiments, analyze and interpret data, create custom hardware and software tools, and present data to customers both inside and outside Micron
- Provide technical customer integration support at customer locations using equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, multimeters, etc.
- Work with customers and memory enablers like GPU manufacturers to attain design wins and qualifications of Micron memory products in their applications
- Collaborate with other engineers within the HBM team, Product Engineering, FAE, Quality Assurance, and business unit teams
Debug Micron Product Customer Failures
- Provide technical support to customers and the field sales
- Utilize diagnostics to reproduce the original failure
- Identify failure mechanism
- Collaborate with Product Engineering and return material authorization (RMA)
- Provide 8D or failure documentation for customer failure resolution
- Implement fixes for failures (design or process)
Design and Implement Micron System Tools
- Create test scripts for a variety of applications
- Create and modify hardware that controls test parameters (e.g., temperature or voltage)
- Support internal customer diagnostics software and hardware tools within Micron labs
- Interface with external customers to create intelligent DOE (design of experiments)
Perform System Characterization
- Use software, internal logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other tools to understand system memory usage
- Develop software to interpret data
- Collaborate with Product and Application Engineering
- Communicate results with cross‑functional teams and customers
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s or a master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (or equivalent) with 3–5 years of experience for a bachelor’s degree or 2–4 years for a master’s, requiring a balanced hardware and software skill set
- Comfortable working and programming with Linux, Python/C/C++, version control systems (git, svn)
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Works well in a team environment
- Good communication, data analytics, and presentation skills
- Basic understanding of DRAM operations and computer networking
- Self‑motivation and passion
Preferred Skills
- Experience in BIOS/Linux driver development/debug
- Understanding of system architecture and memory subsystem
- Comfortable with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzer, protocol analyzers, soldering equipment, etc.
- Previous experience validating products with both hardware, firmware, and software components
