Responsibilities
- System-level validation, failure analysis, characterization, and experimentation of customer HBM systems
- Run and configure diagnostic software; design experiments; analyze and interpret data; create custom hardware and software tools; present data to customers and Micron teams
- Provide technical customer integration support at customer locations, using equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, and multimeters
- Collaborate with customers and memory enablers (e.g., GPU manufacturers) to achieve design wins and qualifications of Micron memory products in their applications
- Work with HBM team members, Product Engineering, FAE, Quality Assurance, and business units
- Debug Micron product customer failures, reproduce original failures, identify failure mechanisms, and produce 8D or failure documentation for resolution
- Implement fixes for failures (design or process)
- Design and implement Micron system tools: create test scripts, modify hardware controlling test parameters (temperature, voltage)
- Support internal customer diagnostics software/hardware and interface with external customers to create intelligent DOE
- Perform system characterization using software, internal logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other tools; develop software to interpret data
- Collaborate with Product and Application Engineering; communicate results cross-functionally and to customers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or equivalent, 3-5 years (Bachelor) or 2-4 years (Master) of experience in a balanced hardware-software role
- Comfortable programming and working with Linux, Python/C/C++, version control systems (git, svn)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; strong communication, data analytics, and presentation skills
- Basic understanding of DRAM operations and computer networking
- Self-motivation and passion for the role
- Preferred experience: BIOS/Linux driver development/debug; understanding of system architecture and memory subsystem; proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzer, protocol analyzers, soldering equipment, etc.)
- Prior product validation experience with hardware, firmware, and software components
