Job summary

Guitar Movement Pte. Ltd. is expanding its team and seeks an Associate / Senior Guitar Instructor to join us full-time at our Bukit Merah Central campus.

You will teach 1-to-1 and group guitar lessons, cover contemporary styles, theory and music education, and guide students toward graded exams while maintaining high teaching standards and strong parent communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 8 in Guitar or equivalent; Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Music preferred.
• 2+ years of teaching experience preferred.
• Strong guitar proficiency and musicianship; knowledge of contemporary styles.
• Experience prepping students for Trinity, RSL or ABRSM exams is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 1-to-1 and group guitar/bass lessons across ages and levels.
• Teach contemporary styles including pop, rock, blues, funk, metal, jazz and fingerstyle.
• Teach music theory, aural training, sight-reading and musicianship.
• Prepare students for graded examinations (Trinity, RSL, ABRSM).
• Assess progress, provide feedback and support long-term development.
• Maintain curriculum standards and school policies; assist with enquiries and operations.
• Assist with basic guitar maintenance; training provided.

Guitar Instructor (Full-Time) — Associate / Senior Instructor

Guitar Movement Pte. Ltd. is expanding our team and looking for an experienced and passionate Associate / Senior Guitar Instructor to join us full-time.

Founded in 2022, Guitar Movement SG is a guitar academy and professional repair space specialising in contemporary music education, guitar development and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct 1-to-1 and group guitar/bass lessons across different ages and skill levels.
• Teach contemporary styles including pop, rock, blues, funk, metal, jazz and fingerstyle.
• Teach music theory, aural training, sight-reading, musicianship and practical techniques.
• Prepare students for graded examinations including Trinity, RSL and ABRSM.
• Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback and support their long-term development.
• Build strong student engagement and support consistent learning, progression and retention.
• Maintain high standards of guitar proficiency, musicianship and teaching excellence.
• Communicate professionally with students and parents while maintaining positive relationships.
• Follow the school’s curriculum, teaching standards, policies and SOPs.
• Assist with course enquiries, scheduling, student matters and general school operations.
• Assist with basic guitar maintenance and servicing where required; training will be provided.
• Maintain the cleanliness, presentation and operational readiness of the school.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of teaching standards.

Requirements

• Minimum Grade 8 in Guitar or equivalent; Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Music preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant teaching experience preferred.
• Strong guitar proficiency, musicianship and knowledge of contemporary music.
• Experience preparing students for Trinity, RSL or ABRSM examinations is an advantage.
• Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
• Professional, responsible and engaging personality.
• Passionate about teaching, developing students and supporting their long-term musical growth.
• Comfortable communicating with both students and parents.
• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Guitar repair and maintenance experience is an advantage.
• Willingness to learn, develop and continuously improve in teaching, musicianship and professional skills.
• Weekend availability is required as part of the school’s operating and teaching schedule.
• Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality and commitment to students and assigned teaching schedules.

Employment Details & Benefits

• Position: Associate / Senior Guitar Instructor
• Employment: Full-Time
• Salary: S$2,500–S$4000 per month, depending on experience, qualifications and role level
• Location: Bukit Merah Central, Singapore (On-site)
