Job description

An exceptional opportunity is available for a Group Management Accountant to join our trailblazing team at one of the premier global organisations in event management and communications. We are at the forefront of revolutionising the communications, engagement, and events sectors. With an impressive legacy spanning over 50 years, we're not just adapting to change; we're driving it, setting the gold standard for the industry. Our mission is to transform the landscape of communications and events, empowering our clients to do things others cannot.

Our team is not just a workforce; it's a community of client-centric professionals dedicated to delivering excellence. Here, you won't just be another cog in the wheel. You'll be a key member of a growing international team, working closely with senior leadership and playing a pivotal role in supporting our expansion across the APAC region.

This is an extraordinary chance to become the first finance operational hire in our APAC office in Singapore, helping to build and shape the region's financial infrastructure and processes whilst supporting the wider business.

About the Role

Reporting to the UK-based Chief Financial Officer, the Group Management Accountant will take primary responsibility for the financial management, reporting and control of our APAC operations, while working closely with the CFO and wider finance team across Group finance activities.

You will drive the APAC month-end close, maintain strong balance sheet controls, support Group reporting and ensure the Singapore business meets its financial, tax and statutory obligations.

This is a hands-on role for a self-starter who enjoys taking ownership, investigating issues and improving how things are done. You will be equally comfortable working through a detailed reconciliation, supporting a commercial project and working with senior stakeholders across an international business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and drive the APAC month-end close, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in line with the Group timetable.
  • Work closely with the CFO and wider finance team to support Group reporting, consolidation and management accounting activities.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis and supporting schedules.
  • Manage accruals, prepayments, deferred income, WIP, intercompany balances and other key accounting adjustments.
  • Review project revenue, cost of sales and margins, ensuring appropriate revenue and cost recognition and proactively investigating anomalies.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and high-quality working papers, ensuring finance remains audit-ready throughout the year.
  • Proactively investigate discrepancies and accounting issues, ensuring they are understood and appropriately resolved.
  • Identify opportunities to improve, standardise and automate financial processes and controls.
Commercial & Group Finance
  • Partner with operational and commercial teams to monitor project profitability, budgets, forecasts, costs and margins.
  • Support the CFO with Group budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, financial analysis and strategic decision-making.
  • Provide clear financial insight, highlighting emerging risks, opportunities and areas requiring management attention.
  • Support the continued development of consistent accounting policies, reporting standards and financial controls across the Group.
  • Operate collaboratively as part of one global finance team across the UK and APAC.
APAC Tax, Compliance & Regional Growth
  • Take ownership of the Singapore finance compliance calendar, ensuring financial, tax and statutory obligations are identified, tracked and completed accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate Singapore GST, corporate tax and other finance-related filings, maintaining appropriate reconciliations and supporting documentation and working with external advisers where required.
  • Work alongside the CFO on audit, statutory reporting, corporate governance and company secretarial matters.
  • Liaise with IRAS, auditors, tax advisers, company secretarial providers, banking partners and other external advisers as appropriate.
  • Support the financial aspects of expansion into new APAC markets, including cross-border projects, new entities and market-entry requirements.
  • Help identify accounting, tax, regulatory and compliance considerations arising from cross-border business, recognising when local specialist advice is required.
  • Support intercompany accounting, multi-currency reporting and appropriate financial governance across regional operations.
  • Help establish scalable finance processes and controls as the Group expands across APAC.
About You

We are looking for a technically strong and commercially minded finance professional who takes pride in the accuracy and integrity of financial information and enjoys taking ownership.

You will be naturally inquisitive when something does not look right and prepared to investigate issues through to resolution rather than simply reporting them.

Experience & Skills
  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent), or an experienced finalist with strong relevant experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience preparing management accounts and managing a month-end close.
  • Excellent understanding of balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, deferred income and intercompany accounting.
  • Good understanding of revenue recognition and matching revenue with associated costs, ideally within a project-based business.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow and variance analysis experience.
  • Experience working within a multi-entity and multi-currency environment.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems and financial data.
  • Experience supporting audit and maintaining high-quality financial working papers.
  • Good working knowledge of Singapore GST, taxation and statutory compliance would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience within an international or regional finance function, including exposure to cross-border business and multiple jurisdictions, would be advantageous.
  • Experience within events, professional services, agency, communications or another project-based business would be beneficial.
Why Join Us?
  • Be the first finance hire in a growing APAC business.
  • Work directly with the CFO and senior leadership team.
  • Play a key role in shaping financial processes and supporting regional growth.
  • Join a global business with an established reputation and ambitious growth plans.
  • Opportunity for significant career development and progression within an international organisation.
  • Collaborative, entrepreneurial, and people-focused culture.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who wants to make a genuine impact, take ownership and help build the financial foundations of a thriving APAC operation.
