Job summary

Stripe Singapore is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Payments engineering team to guide the card payments strategy across regional markets.

You will lead and mentor engineers, drive reliability, scalability, and product velocity, and partner with product and data teams to deliver robust payment experiences.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on architectural judgment, and clear communication to influence across time zones and functions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in engineering management.
• 8+ years of full-time software development experience.
• Proven track record hiring, developing, and mentoring engineers.
• Ability to lead by example in fast-paced, high-impact environments.
• Commitment to high operational rigor when working with production systems.
• Experience building extensible software solutions that scale with business growth.
• Experience in cross-timezone collaboration and fostering positive team culture.
• Experience with payments-related products is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement Stripe’s card payments strategy with senior leadership.
• Develop engineers on the team and help them advance in their careers.
• Raise engineering productivity, reliability, and simplicity across systems.
• Manage processes and interfaces with Stripe-wide initiatives and partners.
• Recruit strong engineers in collaboration with recruiting teams.
• Lead architecture discussions and make hard trade-offs for scalability.
