Job summary

ByteDance Singapore invites interns to join the Global Payments team to help design and operate high‑quality backend services for global payment systems. You will contribute to standardized capabilities across payments, refunds, settlement, merchant services, and related financial workflows while collaborating with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and operations teams.

You will learn to connect business systems with payment platform capabilities across multiple services and markets,

Qualifications

• Proficiency in at least one general‑purpose programming language such as Go, Java, C++, or Python.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, databases, computer networks, or distributed systems.
• Ability to analyze complex problems, break them into clear components, and develop practical solutions.
• Preferred: strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and operate high‑quality backend services for global payment systems.
• Build standardized capabilities across payments, refunds, settlement, and billing workflows.
• Develop end‑to‑end payment solutions by connecting business systems with platform capabilities.
• Improve scalability, availability, performance, security, and observability of critical systems.
• Apply AI‑assisted engineering tools to accelerate development, testing, and incident analysis.
