Job summary

Boskalis, via SMIT Salvage Singapore, invites applications for a Naval Architect. You will provide naval architectural support for salvage projects in tender, preparation and execution stages, linking the office with on-site teams.

You will carry out technical calculations, devise and design solutions for salvage challenges, such as wreck removal and lifting plans. You may work from Singapore or other global locations and must be willing to travel.

Qualifications

• Degree in Naval Architecture or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years experience in naval architecture.
• Experience with shipbuilding/constructional field.
• Proficiency in software such as GHS, AutoCAD, Rhino, Hecsalv.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical feasibility calculations for salvage projects in tender phase.
• Perform complex technical calculations using modelling software.
• Invent technical solutions for salvage project problems in preparatory and execution phases.
• Develop computational methods for salvage and wreck removal projects.
• Explain technical aspects of salvage projects to clients and authorities.
• Guide subcontractors in preparation and execution of naval architecture work.
• Contribute to development of new salvage equipment and knowledge.
• Ensure compliance with SHE-Q policies and environmental management.
