Job summary

NetEase Games is seeking a skilled narrative writer to shape the worldview and long-term storytelling for our international markets. You will craft in-game dialogue, quests, and event narratives while coordinating with localization and LiveOps teams to ensure culturally resonant content.

The role demands native-level English writing, strong storytelling, and a portfolio of scripts; experience in narrative-driven games is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Native-level English writing ability required for overseas markets and product copy.
• Strong storytelling and character-building skills; portfolio or script samples must be provided.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in games or media projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to worldview setting, character design and narrative line development for the product.
• Write in-game copy: dialogue, quest text, event narratives and character lines.
• Collaborate with localization to ensure cultural adaptation and language quality for target markets.
• Integrate narrative into LiveOps events and meta scenarios with operations and art teams.
• Research narrative preferences and pop culture trends in North America and Europe.
