Job summary

NetEase is seeking a skilled ZH→EN localization professional to translate and adapt game content for English-speaking audiences. The role emphasizes maintaining tone and character voice across dialogue, event copy, and UI text, while building and upholding terminology and style guides.

You will review outputs, standardize processes, and ensure quality across development and live-ops builds. Strong cross-cultural communication and scheduling are essential.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native English with strong writing/editing/proofreading skills.
• Fluent in reading and writing Chinese; able to interpret nuances in source text.
• 3+ years in game localization or related field; involved end-to-end launches.
• Familiar with CAT/TMS, terminology management, translation memories, LQA processes, and defect management.
• Excellent communication and scheduling skills in cross-cultural teams.

Responsibilities

• ZH→EN Transcreation & QA: rewrite Chinese content into natural English, preserving tone and voice.
• Linguistic asset management: build terminology databases, style guides, and voice profiles.
• Review & standardization: provide revision suggestions and distill standards.
• LQA & delivery assurance: organize quality assurance across builds and ensure on-schedule delivery.
• Cross-functional collaboration: flag cultural sensitivities and coordinate with multiple teams.
