Job summary

SMP Global Pte Ltd is seeking a motivated Customer Service Assistant to join our Singapore team, supporting day-to-day freight forwarding and logistics activities and acting as a coordination point among customers, operations, carriers and overseas agents. The successful candidate will attend to inquiries, coordinate air/sea freight and trucking from booking to delivery, and provide timely shipment updates.

Fresh graduates are welcome; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum GCE 'O' Level, Nitec/Higher Nitec, Diploma or equivalent.
• Fresh graduates welcome; training provided.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Organised, responsible and attentive to details.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Good interpersonal skills and a customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Attend to customer enquiries and provide prompt and professional customer service.
• Coordinate air freight, sea freight, trucking and cross-border shipments from booking to final delivery.
• Provide customers with timely shipment status updates and follow up on milestones.
• Liaise with shipping lines, airlines, co-loaders, hauliers, warehouses, customs brokers and overseas agents.
• Coordinate with internal Operations and Sales teams to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled.
• Arrange bookings, collections, deliveries and other shipment-related activities.
• Prepare and check shipping documents, including Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, shipping instructions and delivery orders.
• Assist with freight quotations, rate enquiries and basic shipment costing when required.
• Monitor shipment schedules and address delays or issues promptly.
• Handle customer feedback and escalate important matters when necessary.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and supporting documentation.
• Ensure completion of jobs and documents for billing.
• Coordinate with overseas offices and international partners on shipments.
• Provide general administrative and operational support to the team.
