Job summary

PKF-CAP in Singapore and Hong Kong is seeking a seasoned General Counsel to lead the legal and regulatory agenda for a fast‑growing fintech and hedge fund operation. The role combines strategic risk oversight with cross‑border deal structuring and regulator engagement at the board level.

You will manage MAS, SFC, SEC, CFTC, FINRA and FCA relations, build high‑performing legal/compliance teams, and shape policy on derivatives, fund formation, and M&A.

Qualifications

• 12+ years post-qualification experience in related finance law.
• Admitted to practice in listed jurisdictions (e.g. PRC, Hong Kong, Singapore, New York, England & Wales).
• In-house experience at hedge funds, prop trading firms, investment banks or asset managers.
• Deep knowledge of securities regulation, derivatives, fund formation or financial services M&A.
• Proven leadership building cross-border legal/compliance teams.

Responsibilities

• Board meeting prep – draft regulatory risk dashboards and MAS inquiries.
• Transactional work – negotiate ISDA and review fund formation documents.
• Compliance oversight – supervise regional compliance officers.
• External counsel management – evaluate panel and renegotiate fees.
• Talent development – mentor junior counsel on data privacy obligations.
