Job summary

ByteDance seeks an experienced Global Export Compliance Manager to lead the build-up and ongoing enhancement of its export control and trade compliance program, focusing on EAR compliance, end-user due diligence, and restricted party screening.

You will partner with legal, product, engineering, and operations across functions to embed compliance into workflows, ensure audit readiness, and manage cross-border technology transfers and cloud/infrastructure-related risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in relevant field.
• Extensive export controls and trade compliance experience.
• Strong knowledge of EAR and licensing fundamentals.
• Experience building/enhancing compliance programs.
• Experience managing screening, due diligence, and training.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across time zones.
• Familiarity with global jurisdictions including Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance ByteDance's export control and trade compliance program with policies and governance.
• Design operations for screening, due diligence, recordkeeping, and training.
• Develop cross-border processes for tech transfers, onboarding, and cloud access.
• Collaborate with legal, product, engineering, procurement, and logistics to embed requirements.
• Assess and manage export control risks across supply chain and vendors.
