Job summary

Emerson is seeking an Engineering Director to lead and shape global engineering strategy for its Isolation Valves portfolio. This role blends technical leadership with people-first skills to drive excellence, scalable processes, and commercial execution across a diverse, worldwide organization.

You will guide global priorities, coach leaders, manage budgets, and measure performance while advancing standardization of tools and workflows across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience
• Proven experience leading global or geographically dispersed teams
• Experience in a highly matrixed organization
• Ability to work across cultures and time zones
• Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided

Responsibilities

• Lead a globally distributed engineering organization supporting order and engineered-to-order execution, product development, research, and product lifecycle management across the Isolation Valves portfolio.
• Provide strategic leadership to align global engineering priorities with business objectives and customer needs, partnering closely with World Area leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Develop, coach, and retain engineering talent by fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture that values collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability.
• Optimize engineering resources and budgets to focus on the highest-value activities, balancing near‑term execution with long‑term capability building.
• Establish clear performance visibility through meaningful metrics, dashboards, and capacity planning tools to guide decision‑making and continuous improvement.
• Drive global standardization of engineering tools, processes, and systems to improve consistency, efficiency, and scalability across regions and product lines.
