Job summary

Airwallex is building a globally distributed financial platform and seeks an engineer to design and operate cloud networks. You will architect AWS/GCP networks, implement IaC with Terraform, and enable secure cross‑cloud connectivity across regions. The role emphasizes reliability, security, and on‑call readiness.

Ideal candidates have AWS design experience, Terraform expertise, and strong networking fundamentals, with multi‑cloud exposure and scripting skills for automation.

Qualifications

• Solid AWS design experience at scale with VPC, TGW, Direct Connect and network security.
• Proficiency in Terraform or equivalent IaC tooling for provisioning cloud networks.
• GCP networking concepts such as Shared VPC and Cloud Router; multi‑cloud exposure.
• Familiarity with Linux, scripting (Python or Bash) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of routing, TCP/IP, BGP, subnetting and network troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize highly available multi‑region AWS/GCP network architectures.
• Automate cloud network infrastructure using Terraform in CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage hybrid and cross‑cloud connectivity with BGP, IPsec, and routing.
• Provide observability, incident escalation, and participate in a global on‑call rotation.
• Collaborate with Security, DevOps, and Platform teams to land secure Landing Zones.
