Job summary

SYSENG (S) PTE. LTD. seeks a Site Investigation Engineer to supervise soil data records and ensure quality field interpretation of ground conditions.

You will monitor environmental health and safety standards on site, run toolbox talks, and manage safety documentation while coordinating with project managers and engineers to keep operations running smoothly. The role requires a degree or diploma in geology or related field, 1 year SI experience in Singapore preferred, and safety certifications

• Minimum 1 year of Site Investigation (SI) experience in Singapore preferred.
• Holds BCSS certificate or equivalent safety certification.
• Holds GeoSS certificate or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative team player.
• Able to work independently and adapt to site conditions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, check, evaluate and prepare soil data records with sound interpretation of ground conditions.

• Conduct daily toolbox meetings and safety talks; maintain attendance records and safety logs.
• Perform risk analyses and ensure SWPs are understood and followed before and during works.
• Prepare and submit safety plans, risk assessments, SWPs, and supporting documents before work commencement.
• Obtain and ensure Permits to Work signed by all relevant parties.
• Coordinate daily with Project Manager, Field Manager, Engineers, and Drillers to facilitate operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise, check, evaluate and prepare all soil data records, ensuring quality of field works with sound interpretation of ground conditions through ground investigation activities.
• Monitor site environmental conditions, health and safety standards, and housekeeping practices in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Conduct daily toolbox meetings and safety talks for site workers; maintain proper attendance records and ensure timely submission of safety documents, including daily toolbox meeting records and equipment maintenance logs.
• Perform risk analysis for all job activities and ensure Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) are understood and complied with prior to and during commencement of works.
• Prepare and submit all necessary safety plans, risk assessments, Safe Work Procedures, and supporting documents before work commencement.
• Obtain and ensure Permits to Work and any other required permits are properly signed by all relevant parties before work activities proceed.
• Coordinate and liaise on a daily basis with the Project Manager, Field Manager, Engineers, and/or Drillers to facilitate smooth site operations.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geophysics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in Site Investigation (SI) works in Singapore preferred.
• Holds a minimum Building Construction Supervisor Safety (BCSS) Certificate or equivalent/higher safety certification.
• Holds a valid GeoSS (Geotechnical Society of Singapore) certificate or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; a collaborative team player who can work effectively across disciplines.
• Able to work independently and adapt to site conditions with a proactive and responsible attitude.
