Job summary

Fireworks is seeking an AI Field Engineer to embed with customers, turning complex AI problems into production systems. You will build POCs, MVPs, and production integrations while engaging with stakeholders on architecture and business outcomes.

You spend time on-site, ship code, run benchmarks, and translate customer needs into product improvements, aligning with executives and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in hands-on, customer-facing technical role
• Strong Python skills with production code experience
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and infrastructure engineering
• Working knowledge of LLM stack: inference, model serving, fine-tuning
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and GPU deployments
• Excellent communication: discovery calls, VP-level discussions, latency debugging

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end POCs and MVPs with customer teams
• Architect inference foundations and scalable deployments
• Run load tests and establish latency, throughput, and cost baselines
• Deploy and validate new model families on inference frameworks
• Guide customers on model selection and fine-tuning strategies
• Lead on-site discovery conversations and translate pain points into product improvements
