Job summary

YTL PowerSeraya Pte. Limited seeks a commercially driven Assistant Manager / Manager, Gas Commercial to support long-term gas procurement planning and LNG market intelligence in Singapore.

You will engage with LNG suppliers, regulators, and internal teams to optimise portfolio strategy and ensure reliable gas supply for the generation portfolio. The role requires strong commercial judgement, analytical capability, negotiation skills, and cross-functional collaboration with EMA, GasCo, and other

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, Finance, Energy or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in LNG, gas, power, utilities, energy trading, or commercial strategy roles.
• Strong understanding of gas/LNG and power-generation value chain.
• Ability to interpret commercial agreements, pricing formulas and risk clauses.
• Experience in commercial analysis, contract review, supplier engagement, market research or procurement planning.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, especially in Excel.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Match regasified LNG and piped natural gas supply options to plant requirements and constraints.
• Analyse key commercial terms including pricing, take-or-pay, shortfall, curtailment, force majeure, and payment terms.
• Support gas portfolio optimisation across term and spot supply, delivery flexibility, price exposure, and contracts.
• Prepare commercial analysis, internal approvals, market updates, and negotiation materials.
• Develop long-term gas procurement plans with supply-demand matching and plant-level offtake planning.
• Collaborate with legal, finance, operations, regulatory, and senior management on procurement outcomes.
• Assist EMA and GasCo engagements, including open season processes and regulatory responses.
• Negotiate and review spot and term gas contracts with GasCo and other counterparties.
• Build relationships with upstream LNG suppliers, traders, and regional gas-market participants.
• Track LNG SPA benchmarks, long-term deal terms, price indices, and volume flexibility.
• Identify alternative procurement strategies including upstream participation and LNG/PNG import capability.
