Job summary

FPT Asia Pacific Pte Ltd is seeking a backend engineer to build and maintain Python applications that process IFC files. The role focuses on AI-powered development pipelines, automated checks on 3D building models, and delivering reliable software through AWS IaC and GitLab CI/CD.

You will review and refine AI-generated code, collaborate with product managers and domain experts, and continuously improve performance and deployment workflows.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python and backend app development.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and relational databases.
• Familiar with AI-assisted software development workflows.
• Experience with AWS and IaC tools such as Terraform.
• Strong DevOps knowledge: CI/CD with GitLab.
• Willingness to learn BIM/IFC concepts.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python and backend application development.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted or AI-powered software development workflows.
• Familiarity with AWS services and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Good understanding of DevOps practices, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as GitLab.
• Understanding of, or willingness to learn, Building Information Modelling (BIM) concepts and IFC standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional product team.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge or experience in computational geometry.
• Experience working with BIM, IFC files, CAD, 3D models, or geometry-processing systems.
• Experience developing systems that process large or complex 3D datasets.
