Job summary

HSBC Global Private Banking seeks a Funds & Discretionary Specialist to lead the funds and DPM product shelf and to support RMs with portfolio design and implementation. You will present recommendations to clients, explain risks and returns, and respond to technical queries with clarity.

The role requires experience with mutual funds, alternatives and discretionary mandates, a finance-related degree, and progress toward CFA/CAIA.

Qualifications

• Proven experience and strong working knowledge of investment products, particularly mutual funds, alternatives and discretionary portfolio mandates (DPM).
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline. CFA and/or CAIA preferred (or progress towards qualification).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate technical investment content into client-friendly language.

Responsibilities

• Act as subject-matter expert for funds and discretionary (DPM) product shelf and provide clear investment rationale and positioning.
• Partner with Relationship Managers on solution design including portfolio construction input and product selection.
• Attend client meetings to present recommendations, explain risks/returns and handle queries confidently.
• Enable front office with effective pitch materials, talking points and product insights for consistent client messaging.
• Deliver ongoing product training and market updates to uplift RM capability and client conversations.
• Manage day-to-day enquiries from RMs/clients with accurate product information and follow-through on actions.
• Engage fund houses and external asset managers for due diligence, access, updates and ongoing relationships.
• Support product governance: monitor performance, maintain documentation and address suitability/risk concerns.
