Job summary

HSBC Global Private Banking in Singapore seeks a Funds & Discretionary Specialist to act as subject-matter expert for funds, discretionary mandates, and DPM products.

You will partner with RMs on portfolio design, present recommendations to clients, deliver training and market insights, and manage enquiries while upholding governance and due diligence.

Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge of investment products, especially mutual funds, alternatives and DPM.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related discipline.
• CFA and/or CAIA preferred; progression towards these qualifications viewed favorably.
• Strong analytical skills; translate technical content into client-friendly language.
• Commercial mindset with evidence of supporting AUM/revenue growth via product adoption.
• Self-directed, hands-on, and able to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as aFunds & Discretionary Specialist.

In this role you will:

• Act as the subject-matter expert for the funds and discretionary (DPM) product shelf, providing clear investment rationale and product positioning.
• Partner with Relationship Managers (RMs) on solution design, including portfolio construction input, product selection and implementation guidance.
• Attend client meetings as the product specialist to present recommendations, explain risks/returns, and handle technical queries confidently.
• Enable the front office with effective pitch materials, talking points, and product insights to support consistent client messaging.
• Deliver ongoing product training, market updates and thematic investment ideas to uplift RM capability and client conversations.
• Manage day-to-day enquiries from RMs/clients with accurate, timely product information and follow-through on actions.
• Engage fund houses and external asset managers for due diligence, product access, updates and ongoing relationship management; represent the bank professionally.
• Support product governance: monitor fund/DPM performance, maintain required documentation, and proactively elevate suitability, risk or performance concerns.

To be successful you will need:

• Proven experience and strong working knowledge of investment products, particularly mutual funds, alternatives and discretionary portfolio mandates (DPM).
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline.
• CFA and/or CAIA preferred (or progress towards qualification viewed favourably).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate technical investment content into clear, client-friendly language for varied audiences.
• Commercial mindset with evidence of supporting AUM/revenue growth through effective product adoption and front-office enablement.
• Self-directed, hands-on and comfortable operating with autonomy while managing multiple stakeholders and priorities.

The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting.
