Job summary

You will design and build end-to-end video analytics platforms, with React frontend and Java or Python backend, to enable AI-driven insights across ST Engineering businesses.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable software products, focusing on quality, performance, and maintainability in enterprise environments.

We are seeking a skilledFull Stack Engineer to join theGroup Engineering Centre (GEC) - Video Analytics team atST Engineering. You will work as part of a high-performing engineering team to design and developend-to-end video analytics solutions and platforms that enable the deployment, operation, and visualisation of advanced AI and computer vision capabilities across multiple ST Engineering businesses.

You will work closely with cross-functional teamsto translate complex analytics capabilities intorobust, scalable, and user-friendly software products. This role places a strong emphasis onsoftware engineering excellence, modern web development usingReact, and backend development usingJava or Python.

Key Responsibilities

Full Stack Application Development

• Design, develop, and maintainend-to-end applications for video analytics platforms, spanning front-end, backend, and system integrations.
• Buildresponsive and intuitive user interfaces usingReact, enabling effective visualisation of video streams, analytics results, alerts, and workflows.
• Developbackend services and APIs usingJava or Python to support video analytics orchestration, configuration management, data access, and system integration.
• Ensure high standards ofperformance, reliability, security, and maintainability across the full stack.

Platform & Systems Integration

• Integrate applications withvideo ingestion pipelines, computer vision services, and machine learning inference systems.
• Work with video streaming, event-driven architectures, and metadata services.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and system teams to deploy and operate platforms in enterprise or mission-critical environments.
• Support integration with internal and external systems across ST Engineering businesses.

Software Engineering Excellence

• Applystrong software engineering principles, including clean code, modular design, testing, and documentation.
• Participate actively in code reviews and architecture discussions, contributing to continuous improvement of the codebase.
• Troubleshoot and resolve defects, performance issues, and scalability challenges.
• Contribute to shared frameworks, reusable components, and platform standards within the Video Analytics team.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Work closely with machine learning engineers to ensure smooth integration between AI models and production platforms.
• Engage with product owners, domain experts, and users to understand requirements and deliver practical, operationally effective solutions.
• Support agile development practices, including iterative delivery and incremental platform enhancements.

Required Skills & Experience

Essential

• Strong experience as aFull Stack Developer, delivering production-quality software systems.
• Excellentsoftware engineering fundamentalsand experience building maintainable, scalable applications.
• Fluency inReactfor front-end development.
• Strong backend development experience inJava or Python.
• Familiaritywith usingdatabases such as PostgreSQL.
• Experience designing and implementingRESTful APIsand service-based architectures.
• Proficiency with version control, testing practices, and collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to communicate effectively within cross-functional engineering teams.
