Job summary

USER EXPERIENCE RESEARCHERS PTE. LTD is seeking a senior software engineer in Singapore to build and operate web products end-to-end, covering frontend, backend, databases, APIs, and cloud deployment.

You will translate product ideas into working software quickly, iterating based on feedback and evidence, while making pragmatic architectural decisions to balance speed, quality, and maintainability. Collaboration with product managers and designers is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with recent production code.
• Strong and recent Node.js experience.
• Proven experience building web systems end-to-end (frontend, backend, DBs, APIs).
• Understanding of modern web architecture, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and engineering practices.
• Able to work independently in ambiguous problem spaces and make sound technical decisions.

• Work closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders throughout the discovery, delivery, and iteration phases.


• Establish fit-for-purpose engineering foundations, including automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and security, without slowing down experimentation.


• Take ownership of outcomes across the product lifecycle and contribute reusable patterns and practices that help the wider team move faster.

What We Are Looking For

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.


• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with recent experience actively writing and shipping production code.


• Strong and recent Node.js experience, with familiarity with the modern Node.js ecosystem.


• Proven experience building web systems end-to-end, including frontend, backend, databases, APIs, infrastructure, and deployment.


• Strong understanding of modern web architecture, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and software engineering practices.


• Comfortable working independently in ambiguous problem spaces and making sound technical decisions.

Preferred

• Experience in startup, innovation-team, or fast-moving product environments, with a strong bias toward action and delivery.


• Experience with AI-assisted development workflows, including AI coding agents, code generation, or automated code review.


• Proven track record of taking a product from idea or prototype through to production.


• Experience working in cross-functional Agile product teams alongside product managers and designers.
