Job summary

Singapore Exchange (SGX) is hosting the SGX Group Internship Program in Singapore. The Freight Markets Intern role sits with the Baltic Exchange Asia team and offers hands-on experience in freight indices, data analytics, and marketing support.

You will build dashboards in Excel, analyse freight data, support campaigns and events, and collaborate with cross-functional teams; English fluency and Chinese proficiency are preferred for client liaison.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English (written and spoken) and proficiency in Chinese.
• Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) including VBA/Macros.
• Good to have programming knowledge (any language) and SQL.
• Interest in marketing, client outreach and digital media.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain dashboards to monitor freight rates, volumes and data.
• Support analytics on freight data, benchmark data and internal metrics.
• Research regional shipping industry and assist marketing and sales campaigns.
• Collect and analyse trade data for research reports and white papers.
• Assist with content/layout of marketing materials to drive activity.
• Organise industry events including workshops and forums.
