Job summary

IROC is building a World Model of Human Biology in Singapore. We seek a Founding AI Engineer to push the technology and own the loop from scientific question to model to experiment, training, and evaluation.

You will shape model architecture, training strategy, experimentation, and the platform's technical direction while collaborating with scientists and founders on open-ended biological problems.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc with exceptional research and engineering experience.
• Strong ML and software engineering fundamentals.
• End-to-end ownership: research to deployment.
• First-principles thinking for open-ended problems.
• Hands-on experience with PyTorch and distributed training.
• Genuine interest in biology and scientific discovery.

Responsibilities

• Turn scientific questions into concrete AI and modeling problems.
• Design, train, and evaluate models and architectures.
• Explore foundation models, representation learning, and scientific ML.
• Build the data, training, and evaluation infrastructure needed to scale experiments.
• Analyze model behavior and iterate quickly.
• Work closely with scientists to translate biological insight into technical solutions.
• Turn promising research ideas into robust systems.
