Job summary

Singapore Food Agency is seeking a Manager to join the enforcement team, overseeing inspections and sampling of food establishments and imported goods. Qualifications

• Possess good communication and writing skills.

• Knowledge and experience in food-related disciplines will be an advantage.
• Possess a valid Class 3 driving license and ability to drive personal/corporate vehicle for work will be an advantage.
• Knowledge and relevant experience in disciplines relevant to SFA, for example, economics, business development, food science or engineering, data analytics/management, plant science or agriculture/veterinary science will be useful.
• In the event of operation exigencies and/or requirements, be willing to work outside normal office hours.
• Be willing to use basic MS Office applications; knowledge of data analytics tools is a plus.
• Be open to consider other work areas beyond the scope/duties.
• Degree in any disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct inspections and surveys to ensure compliance to food safety and hygiene for local licensees/operators.
• Plan and conduct inspections and sampling for imported food and follow-up with importers; initiate recalls if unsafe.
• Attend to food safety feedback including OH incidents.
• Investigate and follow-up on public/industry feedback across agencies.
• Enforce breaches of food safety laws and licensing conditions, including court prosecutions.
• Plan and conduct targeted operations to prevent unsafe food practices and develop public communications.
• Lead projects related to food safety in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Support service during exigencies.
• Be open to job rotation across areas of SFA for career development.
