Job summary

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) invites applications for an Enforcement Officer to join its regional food safety team in Singapore. You will plan and conduct inspections, enforce food safety laws, and engage with licensees, importers and the public to ensure wholesome and safe food for consumers.

You will work across agencies on public health issues, respond to feedback and incidents, and may rotate to other areas to support career development within SFA.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food-related disciplines is an advantage.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct inspections and surveys to ensure compliance to food safety and hygiene for licensees/operators (retail, non-retail, farms, livestock facilities).
• Plan and conduct inspections and sampling for imported food and follow up with importers; initiate recalls for unsafe food.
• Attend to food safety feedback, including One Health incidents.
• Attend, investigate and follow-up on public/industry feedback across agencies.
• Enforce breaches of food safety laws and licensing conditions; may stand in court for prosecutions.
• Plan and conduct targeted operations to deter unsafe food practices and develop public communications.
• Lead projects related to food safety and collaborate with stakeholders; support career development and mobility within SFA.
