Job summary

Firmus is seeking a Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer to manage the Kubernetes estate powering multiple products and tenants. You will own platform health, upgrades, and reliability across a fleet of GPU-enabled clusters.

You will drive automation, implement tenancy isolation patterns, and contribute to fleet-wide standard baselines. This role combines hands-on engineering with incident leadership in a 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of production Kubernetes platform ownership in 24/7 environments.
• Deep experience with fleet-scale Kubernetes operations and multi-cluster management.
• In-depth knowledge of etcd, API server, controllers, schedulers, and credential rotation.
• Proven ability to write controllers, operators or admission logic in production.
• Experience with multi-tenant or virtual cluster patterns (e.g. vCluster).
• Experience operating GPU-enabled Kubernetes (NVIDIA Operator).
• Strong IaC and GitOps tooling (OpenTofu, Terraform, Ansible, Argo CD).
• Scripting/programming for automation (Go, Python, Bash).
• Defined incident response, runbooks and post-incident reviews.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the reliable operation, automation and continuous improvement of the multi-tenant Kubernetes platform.
• Build the operational tooling and orchestration for fleet-scale operations.
• Manage the Kubernetes cluster lifecycle: provisioning, patching, upgrades, decommissioning.
• Operate and recover control planes carrying live tenant workloads.
• Oversee the virtual cluster platform and tenant onboarding/release pipelines.
• Manage GPU integration layer and device plugins for Kubernetes.
• Diagnose scheduling, network and resource issues and drive CI/CD improvements.
• Lead major incidents as incident commander and drive root-cause analysis.
