Job summary

SJ M&E ENGINEERING AND SERVICES PTE. LTD. is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer in Singapore to lead design of sprinkler, hydrant, alarm and life-safety systems for varied buildings. You will develop layouts, perform hydraulic calculations, and ensure compliance with NFPA, IBC, and local regulations.

You will conduct risk assessments, coordinate with authorities, manage on-site supervision, testing, and commissioning, and deliver complete technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Design fire protection systems including sprinklers, hydrants, pumps, and water tanks.
• Prepare fire protection layouts, calculations, and drawings.
• Assess fire risks in buildings and facilities.
• Ensure designs meet NFPA, IBC, and local codes.
• Coordinate with authorities during approvals.
• Review shop drawings and technical submissions.

Responsibilities

• Design fire protection systems including sprinklers, hydrants, pumps, and water tanks.
• Prepare project deliverables such as layouts, calculations, and equipment schedules.
• Conduct fire risk assessments and hazard analyses.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, IBC, and local codes; coordinate with authorities.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and determine water flow and pump capacity.
• Review and coordinate life-safety systems and emergency lighting.
• Inspect installation and supervise construction on-site.
• Witness testing and commissioning of systems.
• Prepare authority submission documents.
• Provide project coordination across disciplines.
