Job summary

Hitachi Rail Singapore Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Financial Controller for Bids and Projects to join our Singapore office.

You will oversee project controlling, dashboards, and reporting to ensure accurate budgets and forecasts across multi-year bids. The role requires 4-5 years in project controlling or finance, a degree in Finance or Accounting, and strong SAP and Excel skills. Experience in rail, construction, or engineering is preferred.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years of relevant experience in project controlling or project finance.
• Educational or professional background in Finance or Accounting is required.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline preferred.
• Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Excel is mandatory.
• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, hedging, bonds and tax in project environments.
• Experience in railway, construction or engineering industries preferred.
• Knowledge of AI and automation tools would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform project controlling activities.
• Prepare and issue project dashboards and other required reports.
• Conduct project reviews with a focus on project budgets.
• Manage progress payment claims to customers.
• Conduct project cash‑in reviews with the project team.
• Provide inputs for customer monthly progress reports.
• Manage intragroup transactions.
• Review and validate project purchase requests.
• Support monthly closing activities.
• Prepare project cost and revenue profiles for multi‑year budgets and forecasts.
• Apply basic knowledge of hedging, bonds and tax requirements in a project environment.
• Review cost estimates for bids.
