Job summary

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with a CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• Approximately 8 years in financial control, accounting, fund finance or a related function.
• Experience in private equity, infrastructure or multi-entity investment structures.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards and IFRS, group consolidation.
• Experience with capital calls, distributions, investment transactions and valuations.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and familiarity with accounting systems.
• Ability to collaborate across regional teams and time zones.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of entities across several jurisdictions.
• Review financial statements, management accounts, reconciliations and schedules for accuracy.
• Coordinate month-, quarter- and year-end close activities including consolidations.
• Prepare budgets and variances to support decision-making.
• Manage external audits and resolve accounting and reporting matters.
• Support fund activity including capital calls, distributions and waterfall allocations.
• Review movements linked to investments, restructurings and intercompany funding with proper approvals.
• Oversee cash, banking arrangements and short-term forecasting.
• Monitor receivables, payables and settlement activity across entities.
• Collaborate with tax, legal and compliance on cross-border reporting and governance.
• Provide technical guidance to junior staff and regional teams.

A global alternative investment manager is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its regional finance team. The role will oversee financial control and reporting across private investment funds and their associated holding and investment structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of corporate, holding and investment entities operating across several jurisdictions.
• Review periodic financial statements, management accounts, reconciliations and supporting schedules, ensuring accurate and consistent reporting.
• Coordinate month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities, including consolidations, intercompany balances, accruals and provisions.
• Prepare budgets, management information and variance analysis to support financial and operational decision-making.
• Manage external audits and coordinate the timely resolution of accounting, disclosure and reporting matters.
• Support fund and investment activities, including capital calls, distributions, management-fee calculations and allocation waterfalls.
• Review financial movements connected with investments, disposals, restructurings and intercompany funding, ensuring appropriate documentation and approvals.
• Oversee cash positions, payments, banking arrangements, liquidity requirements and short-term cash forecasting.
• Monitor receivables, payables and settlement activity across the relevant entities.
• Work with tax, legal and compliance colleagues on cross-border reporting, entity governance and statutory requirements.
• Review work completed by colleagues, shared-service teams and external providers, providing technical guidance without formal people-management responsibility.
• Support finance-system enhancements and other regional or firm-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with a recognised CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• Approximately 8 years in financial control, accounting, fund finance or a related function.
• Experience gained within private equity, infrastructure, real assets, investment management, fund administration or another complex multi-entity environment.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards and/or IFRS, group consolidation and cross-border financial reporting.
• Practical knowledge of capital calls, distributions, investment transactions, consolidations and valuations.
• Strong spreadsheet capability and familiarity with accounting, treasury or reporting systems.
• Able to operate effectively across regional teams and time zones.
