Job summary

Edelman Smithfield is seeking an enthusiastic intern for EdelmanNEXT, a 6-month full-time program designed to build foundational skills in communications and PR. You will work on financial services accounts, engage in client servicing or pitch teams, and receive mentorship from a dedicated coach to accelerate your learning.

This role offers hands-on experience across media relations and corporate communications.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in communications or PR or a related field.
• Interest in PR, financial services, and client service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Draft press releases, media lists, fact sheets and briefing documents.
• Learn the basics of clients’ business and media targets.
• Conduct research for new business pitches and support pitch decks.
• Update media lists and pitch media contacts under supervision.
• Stay up to date on industry news and trends.
• Participate in team brainstorming sessions.
• Assist with press kit preparation for distribution.
• Assist with research projects and new business audits.
