Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking a Finance Operations Executive to support financial closing, distribution processes, and system change management within a dynamic insurance environment. In this role you will help ensure accurate reporting, monitor distribution batch runs, prepare schedules and aging reports, and act as the finance SME for post-deployment changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 2+ years hands-on experience in finance operations, ideally in life insurance.
• Experience with insurance commission and distribution cost bookings is advantageous.
• Familiarity with general ledger and policy administration systems; Alteryx/PowerBuilder/AI tools are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist monthly financial book closing aligned with group reporting and local timelines for distribution, health, and fixed asset processes.
• Oversee daily batch runs from the DMS and address exceptions or remediation actions.
• Prepare monthly schedules and aging reports for the Distribution team.
• Partner with product development and manage IT change requests as finance SME.
• Collaborate with DSS and DPM to ensure accurate bookings per production periods and insurance fund requirements.
• Assist in EUC controls within Finance Operations.
• Support substantiation and reconciliation of commission and distribution-related accounts.

Job description

We are seeking a Finance Operations Executive to support financial closing, distribution processes, and system change management within a dynamic insurance environment. This role will focus on ensuring accurate reporting, monitoring system operations, managing commission and distribution reconciliations, and serving as the finance subject matter expert for post-deployment system changes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with monthly financial book closing in line with group reporting requirements and local regulatory timelines, focusing on distribution, health, and fixed asset processes.
• Oversee daily batch runs from the Distribution Management System (DMS) and promptly address any exceptions or remediation actions.
• Provide support to the Distribution team by preparing monthly schedules and aging reports.
• Partner with the product development team and manage IT change requests as the finance subject matter expert (SME).
• Work closely with Distribution Support Services (DSS) and Distribution Performance Management (DPM) to ensure accurate booking aligned with production periods and insurance fund requirements.
• Assist in managing end-user computing (EUC) controls within Finance Operations.
• Support the distribution team with substantiation and reconciliation of commission and distribution-related accounts.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in finance operations, ideally within the life insurance sector.
• Background in handling insurance commission and distribution cost bookings will be considered a strong advantage.
• Ability to work with general ledger and policy administration systems; familiarity with tools such as Alteryx, PowerBuilder, and AI solutions will be an advantage.
