Job summary

YTL PowerSeraya Pte. Limited is seeking a motivated Finance Intern to support the Finance team with day-to-day accounting, accounts payable, billing, and month-end closing.

This internship offers hands-on experience across financial processes, vendor invoicing, intercompany billings, and process improvement projects within a dynamic energy business. Candidates currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related fields, with strong numerical skills and Excel proficiency,

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related discipline.
• Strong attention to detail with numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with stakeholders.
• Proactive team player who can work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of SAP/ERP systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Prepare intercompany billings and month-end journal entries.
• Generate and issue customer invoices per billing instructions.
• Process and post tax invoices accurately in the finance system.
• Maintain proper documentation and filing of finance records.
• Support finance reporting, reconciliations, and other accounting activities.
• Participate in ad hoc finance projects and process improvement initiatives.

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to support the Finance team in daily operational and accounting activities. This role offers hands-on experience in accounts payable, billing, month-end closing, and financial processes within a dynamic business environment. The intern will also have opportunities to participate in process improvement initiatives and ad hoc finance projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the processing of vendor invoices and ensure timely payment execution.
• Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment-related queries.
• Assist in the preparation of intercompany billings and month-end journal entries.
• Generate and issue customer invoices in accordance with billing instructions and contractual requirements.
• Process and post buyer-created tax invoices accurately within the finance system.
• Maintain proper documentation and filing of finance records in compliance with company policies.
• Support finance reporting, reconciliations, and other accounting activities as required.
• Participate in ad hoc finance projects and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactive team player who can work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems will be an added advantage.
