Job summary

Ambition, a well-established international trading group, seeks a Finance Controller (Head level) to lead its Finance function in Singapore. You’ll own financial reporting, controls, and act as a trusted partner to drive growth and value creation across the business.

In this senior role, you will interact with the executive team, design internal controls, monitor risk, and oversee funding and cash flow. A CPA/CA/CIMA is preferred, with 8–12+ years of multi-entity finance experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA or CIMA) preferred.
• 8–12+ years of progressive accounting/finance management experience.
• Exposure to commodities trading or bulk materials is a strong advantage.
• Strong Excel skills and ERP system experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial governance and ensure timely financial statements and management reporting.
• Design, implement and monitor internal controls for regulatory compliance and risk management.
• Manage working capital and trade finance to optimise cash flow.
• Oversee budgeting process and variance analysis against targets.
• Coordinate external audits and tax matters to ensure compliance.
• Lead, mentor and develop the Finance team and partner with operations and leadership.

You’ll own financial reporting and controls, and act as a trusted commercial partner to the business as it continues to grow.

Responsibilities:

• Lead financial governance, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements and management reporting
• Design, implement and monitor internal controls to meet regulatory requirements and manage financial risk
• Manage working capital and trade finance facilities to optimise cash flow and support trading operations
• Manage the budgeting process and run variance analysis against targets
• Coordinate external audit and tax matters, ensuring timely filings and statutory compliance across entities
• Lead, mentor and develop the Finance team
• Partner with operations and senior leadership to provide financial insight and support growth initiatives

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Professional qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA or CIMA) is highly preferred
• 8-12+ years of progressive accounting and finance management experience in fast-paced, multi-entity environments
• Exposure to commodities trading, agribusiness or bulk materials is a strong advantage, including MTM accounting, hedging instruments and inventory valuation for physical goods
• Advanced Excel, with ERP system experience
• Strong commercial acumen, analytical ability and the communication skills to engage operational teams and the board
