You will handle journal entries, reconciliations, month-end closures, and MAS returns, collaborating with auditors and tax consultants. Mandarin proficiency is valued to liaise with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
• 3–5 years of audit, financial reporting or regulatory reporting experience.
• Knowledge of MAS CMS regulatory requirements.
• Understanding of bonds, securities, derivatives.
• Strong English communication; Mandarin ability is beneficial.
• Self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Perform daily finance operations and regulatory tasks for a capital markets firm, supporting financial closings, regulatory filings, and audit processes to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily finance operations including journal entries, bank and broker reconciliations, client money segregation, and risk-based capital calculations to maintain accurate financial records
• Manage month-end and year-end financial closing activities to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Prepare and submit regulatory filings such as MAS returns, GST returns, and Corporate Income Tax returns in compliance with statutory requirements
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants to facilitate audit and tax processes and resolve related issues
• Deliver finance-related ad-hoc assignments to support business needs and regulatory compliance

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent)
• 3-5 years of experience in audit, financial reporting, or regulatory reporting within securities or capital markets firms
• Knowledge of MAS regulatory requirements applicable to Capital Markets Services (CMS) licensees
• Understanding of financial products including bonds, securities, and derivatives
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Proficiency in Mandarin to effectively liaise with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
