Job summary

Qnity is seeking a highly motivated Thermal & EMI Solutions FAE to join our SEA team. You will drive TIM/EMI material selections, promote MFS solutions at customer sites, and coordinate with OEMs, distributors, and cross-regional teams to ensure EMC compliance and thermal performance.

Travel within SEA is expected. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in thermal management and EMI engineering, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials science or related field.
• 3–5 years hands-on experience in thermal management and EMI engineering.
• Experience with TIM materials and EMI materials (gaskets, absorbers, shielding).
• Familiarity with ASTM/IEEE/MIL-STD test methods.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own TIM, EMI, absorber, and MFS promotion at customer sites.
• Collaborate with OEM/ODM/CM teams and distributors to implement solutions.
• Coordinate internal resources for quick turnaround on engineering challenges.
• Drive new business development with commercial team in the region.
• Support exhibitions and marketing actions.
• Travel to provide on-site support across SEA.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Role Definition

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Thermal & EMI Solutions FAE to join our Laird Technologies SEA team. In this role, you will be responsible for the selection, qualification, and application engineering of thermal interface materials (TIM) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) management materials across different product line to serve different market segments. The FAE position is a customer facing role, driving solutions to ensure our products meet customer stringent thermal performance and EMC compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for Thermal Interface Material (TIM), EMI, Absorber, Magnetics components and Multi Functional Solution(MFS) promotion at customer site
• Work with OEM/ ODM/CM engineers, distribution partners and cross regional teams to implement Laird solutions for respective projects
• Coordinate internal resources to provide customer with quick turnaround solutions on their engineering, design and application challenges
• Drive new business development with commercial team in the region through technical support
• Support exhibition & other marketing promotion actions
• May require extensive travelling to perform on-site support to customers within SEA
• To perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager

Requirements

• Education Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry or a related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications/experiences

• 3 – 5 years of hands-on experience in thermal management and/or EMC engineering across data centre, telecom, automotive, industrial and medical segments
• Demonstrated experience in TIM selection and qualification — thermal pads, phase change materials, thermal grease, liquid gap fillers.
• Demonstrated experience with EMI materials application — fabric-over-foam gaskets, absorbers, magnetic shielding, conductive foils/tapes, precision metals and board level shield
• Familiarity with industry-standard test methods (ASTM, IEEE, MIL-STD, etc) for thermal and EMI materials
• Experience/knowledge in material characterization, application dispensing, automatic assembly and failure analysis is preferred
• Knowledge in 3D modeling, thermal analysis, EMI simulation/testing, finite element analysis process will be a plus.
• Keep work-skills up to date to ensure Laird competitiveness in dynamic global business environment
• Effective communicator — able to present technical findings clearly to both engineering peers and management
• Self-driven and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
• Able to work on CRM (Sales force) system and track project progress accordingly
